The DOAM Foundation Story

Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial (DOAM) Foundation is a charitable, humanitarian, and non-governmental organization established in 2007, in memory of Master Daniel Ogechi Akujobi (1992-2005) who died from injuries he sustained in a fatal highway accident on his way back to school along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State Nigeria. He was the only son of his parents.

The Foundation is primarily dedicated to the enhancement of education and healthcare of less-privileged children and youths in our society. Thus, the Foundation offers scholarship to identified intelligent but indigent children/youths at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. It also executes other programs which improve the quality of lives for beneficiaries through healthcare programs such as de-worming of children, nutritional and psycho-social intervention in the lives of children and adolescents, complete mentorship programs for youth and provision of emergency support services.

Furthermore, an evidence of emergency support services in the construction and equipment of the DOAMF Accident and Trauma Centre located at Mowe along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, and procurement of an ambulance to aid life-saving activities at the Centre. Other examples include: evidence of intervention in education through the provision of scholarship support to intelligent but less privileged children, equipment of libraries in some public schools with ICT facilities and up-to-date books for less privileged children; evidence of intervention in social and health conditions: skill acquisition training programs for the less privileged women, construction and equipment/refurbishments of sickbays, lavatories, various community health outreaches etc. Over 95,000 lives have so far been touched by our programs and counting.
